Apples launched the Mini-Appliance Program, which reduced the percentage of in-shopping to 15%.

Apple recently announced the launch of a new mini-application cooperation programme, which reduced the commission rate to 15 per cent for intra-facility purchases in small applications, and defined “mini-application” as an independent experience process based on web-based technologies such as HTML 5 and JavaScript, which operates on host-student applications. The technology has been supported in App Store for nearly a decade, but this is the first time that apples have provided commission relief for small program transactions.

Apple added specific requirements for mini-applications as early as 2017 to the Appendices Guide, and guideline 4.7 allows developers to run small programs, mini-plays, stream media games, chat robots, plugins and game simulators to provide software from non-dominant binary files, and sets standards for handling sensitive data or filtering bad content, consistent with the requirements of primary applications. In order to qualify for the new scheme, Apple requires host applications to be placed on iOS or iPadOS App Store, in compliance with the Apple Developer Project Licensing Agreement and the existing audit guidelines (with mini-applications). The plan adds a new technical support requirement: it is necessary to integrate senior business API and declare age classification API to ensure that content is age-appropriate, and to enforce the use of the apple application purchase system and provide transaction information to apples when they apply for refunds.

Apple has positioned this as a means of helping host developers to expand their business. Incentives for developers to adopt apple technology systems, including trust and security tools, through commission reductions, while the cost savings could be used for eco-building against small-scale feeding. This also ensures that apples can still obtain a share of the small program economy as markets evolve. Currently, the iOS platform has a variety of primary applications for integrated mini-applications, such as LINE, instant messaging, and Discord, which provide mini-play. It is worth noting that the AI service provider has recently started to organize this area: ChatGPT has recently launched Booking.com, Expedia, Spotify, etc. operating on a chat interface. The analysis suggests that the platform could gradually threaten the commercial model of App Store if the applications of interaction and trading continue to migrate within ChatGPT.

According to a previous report by Bloomberg, Apple and Tent had reached a 15 per cent agreement on micro-intelligence, but did not disclose that the scheme would be open to other developers. Developers intending to participate in the plan are required to submit applications, provide details of the host’s qualifications and small procedures for application, and submit applications for review after agreeing to the terms of the plan. Apples now require developers to submit lists containing program software, metadata and small program links for review. Apples make it clear that preferential rates of commission rates are available for purchases within applications designed for digital goods and services, including consumer, non-consumptive, automatic renewal and non-renewal subscriptions.
